Sir Major Calhoun has called upon Mr. Tiernan (for) 18 Standards for Tents, and Mr. Tiernan being absent, an Application has been made to me for them. On conversing with Mr. Rutter, who lives with Major Calhoun, he is of Opinion, you sent them to the mechanic (who) made them, to be repaired, and he thinks they are now there. Mr. Payson (requires) me to request the favor of you, to inform me where they are, if you (have) any knowledge of them, that I may obtain them and deliver them (to) Major Calhoun.
