Please do not write any questions on this form as it is forwarded directly to the photoduplication lab. If you have any furtiier inquiries, please enclose a separate letter with the order. The records cited above include all the Court of Appeals materials concerning the case of Mayor and City Council vs. Barron. You may not want copies of all documents. If so, indicate the ones you do want and recalculate the fee. The record I had discussed with Mike Miller is (iNotes on Arguments, Western Shore), a manuscript volume with loose, brittle pages. Thus the record must be handlec with care and not subjected to stress caused by placement on a xerox machine. U'e apply the sane principle to all manuscript records in our custody. The Hall of Records is charged, with both making records available and insuring their preservation. To achieve these ends we use photostatic equipment that protects the physical integrity of volumes and papers and, we charge what it costs to produce copies. From 1806 to 1851 tiie Court of Appeals raet in Annapolis and in Laston, thus the designations Western Shore and Eastern Shore. The quotation about no formal opinion in .layer and City Council vs. Barron is correct. The citation ror (Opinions, ','estern Shore) is actually the original of the uemo rand urn of judgment quoted in 50 ^d 154. If briefs were submitted to the Court of Appeals, they are not extant. However, (Notes on Arguments, Western Shore) nay be informative since it contains the Court Reporter's notes on arguments berore the Judges. For briefs presented to the U. S. Supreme Court, I suggest you contact the national Archives, if your have not already done so. If I can be further assistance, please let me know. Sincerely yours, Patricia 11.
