Dear Governor: With reference to a series of Maryland lynching stories which are being written for The Chicago tribune and which you will start reading in 'The Sun tomorrow (Sunday) I feel I sho<-;/flild pass along some information gathered in the office here. Ace rding to the telegraph desk Arthur Sears Henning who is the Washington correspondent of the Tribune detailed the episode to Colonel McCormick with the obseravtion:"You seem to like this fellow.How about putting the acid test to him sc that your mind can be clear regarding him next year?"
