An argument followed, and Williams fired several times at Elliott, fatally wounding him. He then inflicted a slight wound on his own chest before hurling the gun to th« floor. Shot By Victim's Son. A man to whom Elliott was talking over the telephone heard th« shots and notified the authorities. But meanwhile, young Elliott had hurried in from an adjoining offic« and shot the colored man through the head with the latter's discarded gun. Both Elliott and his assassin were taken to the hospital where the employer, who was 65, died a few minutes before the lynchers wrought vengeance.
