of Cumberland,
This photo shows the intersection of the Old
Cumberland K:>ad with firaddock's Road in San-
dy Gap, on the western slope of Wills Moun-
tain opposite the old Steiuer House, now owned
by Frederick I.aing. The Second Report of the
United States Commissioner* (Jan. 15, 1808)
mentions this intersection. This spot is bare of
timber and can be distinctly seen from Big Sav-
age Mountain.
