Assignments of Magistrates.
The secretary reported to the Board that Justice J. Mc.Kenny White, Northern District,notified the department on Saturday,January 24th,1903, that he desired to be absent from his duties from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. of that date; that he, the secretary had authorized Justice William Reed to act as police justice for the Northern District between 3 P.M. and 5 P.M., January 24th,1903, in the place of Justice White; additional Justice Nelson Poe Jr., being on leave. The action of the secretary in assigning Justice Reed to sit at the Northern District Station as mentioned,was approved.
The secretary also reported that Justice James Pechtig,Jr.,Central District,had notified the department on Saturday,January 24th,1903, that he desired to be absent from his duties on Sunday,January 26th,1903j that he,the secretary, had assigned additional justice Nelson Poe,Jr., to sit at the Central District Station on Sunday,January 25th,1903,in the place of Justice Pechtig. The action of the secretary in assigning Justice Poe to the Central District as ab ve, was approved.
Donations.
Upon the recommendation of the Captain of Detectives, approved by the Marshal, it was ordered that Detective William A. Mason be permitted to retain $3.50 donated to him by J. W. Dorman Company, 121 E. Payette street, for the arrest of Christena Geist.
Upon the recommendation of the Captain of Detectives, approved by the Marshal, it was ordered that Detectives Mark Hagan, William A. Mason and R. H. Thomas, be permitted to retain Twenty-five Dollars donated to them by Thomas J. Manning of Charleston, W. Va., for the recovery of watch and fob, and the arrest of Richard W. Jones.
Wrestling Match;__
Upon the recommendation of the Marshal it was ordered that permit be granted to Charles J. Weiss to hold Wrestling Match, Germania Maennerchor Hall, on the night of January 30,1903.
