260 was seen in that condition at the time referred to by the Justice of the Southern District; that Detective Berney wa3 also in an intoxicated condition in the Station-house of the Southern District on Thursday, January 22,1903, etc. It was ordered that this coramun:cation be referred to the Marshal with instructions to investigate thoroughly the matter referred to, and report. Painting. Eastern District Station-house. It was ordered by the vote as sh-wn hereunder that Wm. P. Miller, 1725 W. Pratt street, be employed to do the following painting at the Eastern District Station-house, viz:- Walls and ceiling of all the rooms on the first floor, and hallway to third story landing, two coats of lead paint of best quality, the woodwork of same to be grained of oak and varnished, all for the sum of $102.00. That the walls of the two toilet rooms and the room to be used by the captain on the second floor, to be scraped and receive three coats of lead paint; the woodwork of said rooms to be grained oak and varnished, all for the sum of §89.00. The vote upon the employment of William P. Miller to do painting at the Eastern District Station-house, as above, was as follows:- President Upshur,.....Yea, Commissioner Fowler,..Yea. (See Bids 4 Proposals). Rental of Stables. A communication, as follows, was received from the Lieutenant of Mounted Police:- "Mounted Service District, January 26,03. Mr. Josiah A. Kinsey, Secretary, Board of Police Commissioners. Sir:- I respectfully recommend the fcental of a stable situated on Merryman's Lane near York Road, from Catherine Myers, #1104 York Road, for the sum of One Dollar a month. This stable is to be used to feed the horses of the Mounted Bergeant and three mounted officers at dinner time, and is situated within a square of the junction of their respective posts. These officers cover the territory bounded by Charles street on the West, Harford Road on the East, 22nd. St., on the South, and the City limits on the North, and by feeding their horse3 in this stable they will save fifty minutes of their dinner time, which will
