found in a badly injured condition in the Korthern District on the night of December 8,1902, and taken to the Mounted Stable to await a claimant, etc., as described fully in the report on the subject made by Officer Robert ?. McClelland, and filed in connection with this minute, as Exhibit No. 982. Upon the recommendation of the Lieutenant of Mounted Tolice, and the Deputy Marshal, acting as Marshal, in the absence of Marshal Farnan, it was ordered that §21. of the §36. above referred to be turned over by the Secretary to Officer Robert P. McClelland, and that the balance §15. for feed furnished said horse, be deposited in the Special Fund. Opium & Gambling Joint. Frederick St., between Fayette & Gay. Communication from Grand Jury. In the matter of communication received from the Grand Jury, upon the subject of opium and gambling joint on Frederick street, as referred to in the proceedings of March 4th. and 9th.,1903, an additional letter, as follows, was received from the Grand Jury and ordered referred to the Marshal for his attention:- "Baltimore, March 13, 1903. To the Board of Police Commissioners. Gentlemen:- Your letter of the 9th. inst. enclosing report of the Police Marshal in regard to a Chinese joint on Frederick street is before me and contents noted. In reply will state that information has been received by the Grand Jury that there is a restaurant of the character mentioned in the vicinity of Lexington and Frederick streets. Very respectfully, DAVID HUTZLER, Foreman. P.S. Also on Marion street."
