WHITE HALL.
Mis^ Beulah McGinnis entertained the White Hall Social Club last Saturday night.
Mrs. J. Leonard Slade entertained the White Hall Book Club on/ Monday afternoon.
Mr. Charles Wallis, of near Jersey, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Parrish.
Miss Elizabeth Bosley, who spent the winter in Baltimore, has returned to White Hall for the summer.
Miss Emma Lytle, of Washington, D. C, has been the guest of Mrs. J. L. Slade.
Rev. Normon, a missionary in China, preached at the White Hall Presbyterian Church last Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Leib, of Baltimore, are at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Foster for the summer. .Mrs. Emma Norris; who has been ill is very much improved'.
The White Hall Farmers' Club and Improvement Association has sold a lot of ground to Andrew L>. Anderson.
The Association contemplates erecting three new cottages on their property.
Mr. Howard Hunter, of Baltimore, is visiting his sfister Mrs. C. M. Ho-shall.
Preparations are being made by the various churches and Sunday Schools for Children's Day services to be held in June.
ASHLAND.
Sunday School at g o'clock; preaching at 2.30 every Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Melchoir Brown entertained last Sunday the following: Mr. and Mrs. Hacker, of Baltimore; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brown, Mrs. Esther Cole and two sons; Miss Bessie and Miss Ada Gill, of Gwynbrook; Miss Edna Hacker. Mr. T. W. Davis is also spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Brown.
Miss Anna Morris is spending a few days in Baltimore.
Mr. and Mrs. Perry gave a birthday party in honor of Mrs. Perry.
The stork visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sheeler and brought them a bouncing baby girl.
Midfs Edna Howard and Private' J. Long spent Sunday with Miss Emma Perry.
Mrs. E. Cole, of Ashland and Mr. Homer Brown spent a while with their sister, Mrs. Thos. C. Reter.
CHASE.
On last Thursday evening about 80 persons, representing four churches of the Chase Circuit, gathered at the parsonage to welcome the new pastor, Rev. H. R. K. Gill and his family. A pleasant evening was spent in games' and music, ending with refreshments.
Special services^ were held at Eben-•ezer last Sunday afternoon and evening, resulting in sixteen persons uniting with the church on probation.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Horn, of Washington, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. J. T. League.
Miss Dora Lay, of Baltimore, spent lanlt Sunday with relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. John Chenoweth spent last Sunday and Monday visiting relatives here.
Mrs. William Carback and Miss Isa-belle Rollins spent Wednesday with relatives at Aberdeen.
Mrs. Maggie Crouch and Mrs. Hat-tie League sjpent the day in the city .on Wednesday.

The. regular meeting of Fork M. E. Mite Society will be held Friday evening, June 4, at the home of Mrs. Edw. Munnikhuysen. A cordial invitation is extended to all members and friends. If stormy come Saturday evening'.

Mrs. Mary Kelly, daughter of the late Thomas ,and Hannora Keatinsr, formerly of Texas, died on May 24. She was buried on May 28. Requiem Hisrh Mass at St. Edward's Church. Baltimore, and interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Texas.

The social held by the members of the M. E. Church was quite a. success.

Last Saturday evening about halt past nine as Mr. Norman Henley, Mr. Charles German and Miss Mary C. Spencer, of Jarrettsville, were driving on the Frederick road about one mile from Ellicott City their car was struck by an Oakland driven by Mr. Wah-mann, of Baltimore, and thrown over a ten-foot embankment into the Pa-tapsco River.
