THE JEFFERSONIAN, TOWSON, MARYLAND. June 5, 1920-Page 3 Local Correspondence GRAVE RU\\T. The Ladies' Aid Society met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lauer on Tuesday evening- last. At this time the officers were elected, as follows: Presi-ident, Mrs. Wm. C. Miller; vice-president, Mrs. Pearl Palmer; secretary, Hilda Lauer; treasurer, Mrs. George Lippy. After the business for the month was transacted the rest of the evening was sipent in playing games and in music. Everyone had a pleasant time. The Ladies' Aid Society will hold a festival on the school ground this evening. Everyone is invited to attend and hear the music, rendered by a popular band. Mr. and Mrs| Walter Carr, Mrs. Geo. Martin, Mr. Wm. Carr and Misses Florence Miller, Nellie Martin and Mary Carr were guests of Mr. and Mrsi Edmund Carr, of Manchester, on Sunday. Miss Mabel Stiffler spent Tuesday evening with Miss Florence Miller. On Thursday evening of last week the friends of Mrs. Harvey Zeigman tendered her a surprise party in honor of her birthday. The evening wa^ pleasantly spent in playing gaSnes. Refreshments were served at a late hour. WOODLAWN. Children's Day service will be held at Emmart's Church on Sunday afternoon, June 6th, at 2.30 P. M. Mr. Richard McGinnis, of Rockdale, will have charge of the Epworth League service at Emmart'B Church on Sunday. Come out and enjoy the talk. Mrs. S. D. Boss and daughter, Miss Jessie Boss of Brooklahd, D. C, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Upton. Mrs. A. D. Stirn, Misses Lillian Stirn ana Mildred Sauter visited Mr. and Mrs Wm. Relnhold and family. A strawberry festival will be held in Emmart's Church yard on next Wednesday evening. Be sure to come and Join the crowd. "A Poor Married Man" was enjoyed by all who went to see this play, which was given by Lincoln Council of Roslyn, at Acme Hall, Hebbville, on Wednesday evening. Miss Olive Hidey, of Baltimore, spent Sunday at Woodlawn. Mrs. Milburn Widerman is improving after having bronchial pneumonia. Mrs Howard Stowe and little daughter, Grace, spent Sunday with Mr., and Mrs. H. A. Zeigler The Patrons! of Belmont School met at the school on Tuesday night. ----------—o------------ FORK. being made to have everything in readiness to serve the pu-blic with plenty of good things to eat. There is to be a "gold mine," where everyone may try their fortune, so come make the occasion one to be remembered in the annalst of Fork school. The proceeds will be used toward paying for a piano. If stormy Friday evening come Saturday. Don't forget the festival to be held by the Fork Christian Church tonight, June 5th, in Shirley Hall. Mr. and Mrs. George R. J., were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Formwalt on Monday. Preparations are being made by Fork M. E. Sunday School for their Children'^ Day service, which will be held at 3 P. M. Quite a number of folks of this community motored to Gettysburg on last Sunday and spent the day sightseeing. Lewis Schoelcopf and son Russell spent the week-end with the former's mother, Mrs. Jennie Turn-baugh, of near Towson. Fairview M. E. Church South will hold its Children's Day service Sunday, June 6th. Everyone is invited to attend. It will commence at 3 o'clock. Miss Bessie Bareham spent Sunday with Miss Margaret Gover.
