Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peregoy and daughter, Dorothy; Mr. and Mrs>. Clifton Haile and daughter, Virginia, and Mrs. Rachael Haile visited at the homt> of Mrs. Joshua T. Haile and family on Sunday. Mrs. Charles Haile and children, Rachael and Ruth, s&ent last Saturday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. artd Mrs. Richard Kelbaugh, • of Evna. Mrs. Daniel Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. .J. Mr and Mrs. John Wilhelm and two children; Mr. and Mrs. Silas Lloyd, Mrs. Merryman Wilhelm and children, and Messrs. Clifton Mitchell and Preston Haile were guests Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs>. Mr Daniel Wheeler, Jr., of Baltimore, spent Saturday last at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wheeler. Mr. and Mrs. John T. aile and family spent Sunday at the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Wilhelm, of Mt. Carmel. Mrs. William C. Morfoot spent Sunday at the home of her sis/ter, Mrs. Peter Wilhelm. Mr. E. Bennett Bowen spent Sunday evening at the home of Mrs. Lula Martin and family. Miss Hester Martin will spend part of her summer vacation at the home of Mr. Bowen's par-enas, at Owings Mills. Speed and Mrs. Curtiss Blake, his daughter, of Garfield, Utah, spent the week-end in Washington visiting relatives. Mrs. Leon Gise is home from the hospital for a short while before undergoing another operation, which we hope and trust will be very successful. Mrs. John Murray visjited the home of her sister, Mrs. Ed Brown, of Wood-berry, last Saturday and Sunday. Miss Vivian McDonald, of Shepherds-town, W. Va., is spending some time with her sister, Mrsi W. T. Stringer. Misses Sherwood, of Catonsville, were week-end guests of Miss Mary Ebaugh. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Councilman, ¦of Baltimore, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harper. Misises Elsa and Florence Roschen have returned from a visit to Gettysburg, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. A. Gompf and little aon, of Panama, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. Ferrel, of Baltimore, have moved into their new home. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Gray and daughter, of Wilmington, Del., have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. David Gray. RASPEBURG. The Men's Bible Class of Gatch M. E. •Church are holding a carnival three night this week on Cole avenue and tBelair road, beginning Thursday evening and closing tonight. The men have absolute charge of the tables and serve everything. They have worked haro. for the success of this affair. The proceeds are toward the building fund. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schone are spending two weeks with the latter's aunt, at Royal Oak, Md. Mr. John Weilbrenner, of this place, who drank the wrong kind of drink for liquor last week after having paid a good price for the same, is lying very ill at the home of his brothers on Hazelwood avenue. He isj partially paralyzed. The Baptist Sunday School, Overlea, held a very good service on Sunday night last to celebrate their Children's X>ay. ROCK CHAPEL. Mrs. Albert Hines and children, of Baltimore, spent the week-end with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Peregoy. Mrs. John Finney, of Baltimore, and Mrs. James Smith, of York, Pa., are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewisj S. Bowman. The foundation for the new sewing factory at New Market is nearing completion. Mr. James Brose moved his sawmill to the Noah Krout farm, where he will saw a frame for a canning house for H. C. Krout and W. A. Rehmeyer. Mrs. E. S. McAbee, of New Freedom, Pa., was a visitor in our town on 'Sunday last. ARMACOST. Peter A. Rinaman and family, H. F. TCelley and wife, Mis^ Gertrude Hunt •and Messrs. Sterling Brown and Raymond Hyson motored to Harrisburg last Sunday to visit H. V. Quail. They were escorted through the Capitol, which is a magnificient structure and through the park on the mountain, where one may look down upon the city and river. Make that your next trip. You will enjoy it. ' Mrai. William E. Royston is spending a few days with Mrs. John P. Kelley. A terrific wind and thunder storm passed through this section last week doing much damage, unroofing houses, blowing down hay barracks and uprooting trees. FULLERTOS. A collision occurred between a high powered automobile and a large truck near Easter's Park on Tuesday. The •occupants of the former were thrown out and injured and their machine got the worst end of the bump. On Saturday last a large contingent of soldiers, cavalry and Government ¦wagons with all their equipment ¦were enroute to Aberdeen. Farmers are shipping in to the wholesale market peas, cherries, beans, onions, radishes and strawberries. On account of the frequent showers crops are good. OWINGS MILLS. Rain every day. We can neither work our growing crops) or get the ground ready for late potatoes. Edward Morrow moved to Hernwood last week. Miss D. Ritter has moved into her new bungalow. Strawberries are still moving into the city every night, and bringing good prices, but on account of the -wet -weather cherries did not last long. Our enterprising merchant, Mr. D. II.
