Missf Nancy Brewster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Harris Brewster, Jr., of Green Spring Valley, and Mr. Francis White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Miles White, were married on Monday at 5 o'clock in St. Thomas' Church, this place. The wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. Hobart Smith, rector of St. Thomas' Church. After the ceremony a reception was given at the home of the bride's father. Mis^ Edna Armacost and several friends from Hampstead were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Armacost of thhis place last Sunday. Miss Horn, of Sweet Air, is now visiting her sister, Mr^. Harrison New-houser, of this place. Mr. and Mrs. K. Allen and family, of Baltimore, were visitors at the home of his father, Mr. Allen, of Garrison, last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Warfel and family, of Garrison, attended the wedding of Mr. Robert Clark and Miss Sadie Robinson last Wednesday night. ASHLAND. Sunday School at Ashland Church at 2 o'clock; preaching at 2.30. Mrs.- Martha Gover, Mr. and Mrs. Turner, of Baltimore, and Mrs. Fred Gover and daughter, of Sunn^brook, were visitors of Mrs. Rose Wilson last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Myera», of Baltimore, were visiting the former's mother, Mrs. Charles Myers. Mrs. Wm. Perry and ' family, Mr. Joseph Brown, visited her sister, Mrs. Earl Bears, of Beaver Dam last Sunday. Mrs. Edward Roberts, of this place, is very ill at her home under the care of Dr. J. S. Green. Misses Eliza and Ruth Burton, of this place, are spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson and family of Lutherville. Mr. and Mrs. C'arence Amerin are receiving congratulations! on the birth of a fine big son. The teachers and children oi Greenwood and Glen arm Public Schools motored to Baltimore last Thursday and saw a 'story of "Treasure Island" played at New Windsor Theatre. The play wwas enjoyed by everyone, even those who had not read the book. Mrs. Theodore Schneider, Mrs. Henry Erbe and ' s\oxu Mr. and Mrs. John Scchneider and ,son, Mr. Edward Shneider and s o n, Mr. Edward were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Burton and family on Sunday. There will be preaching at Waugh M. E. Church on Sunday at 11 o'clock A. M. All are welcome. Sunday School at the usual hour, 10 o'clock. PHEELAND. The warm weather is certainly making corn grow very rapidly. The way the hay fields are dotted with the little stacks indicates a good yield. Next week will be grain harvest and the prospect looks favorable for the farm. Mr. George K. Shelly, who last Spring bought the J. H. Keeny flour mill near Middletown, has srfold his farm near Bentley Springs to John Hunt for $9,000. This is one of the leading farms in that section. Hurrah for the Fourth! The citizens at Maryland Line will celebrate the occasion tonight and the Ekloites on Monday night. Miss Mamie Vaughn, of Goyans, is spending s6me time with Mrs. Adolph Venzke. MrS4 George Richardson is visiting Her brother, Mr. George Robinson, at hi« home near Bel Air. Mr. Marion Owings and son, of Wilmington, visited his father, Mr. Harry Owings, last Sunday. The Sunday School of Cowenton Church will hold its annual picnic on Wednesday, July 14, on the church lawn, afternoon and evening. Beginning tomorrow Sunday. School will be held at Cowenton Church in the morning at 10 o'clock instead of 2 o'clock as heretofore. SWEET AIR. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burk and family, of Baltimore, have returned home after spending some time, with his mother, Mrs. Andrew Burk. The regular meeting of the Community Improvement Association will be held Wednesday evening, July 7. Mrs. Adolph Schurman, a lifelong resident of this neighborhood, died last Monday morning at her home here. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon and was largely attended by relatives and friends Who, Owing to her kind arid generous disposition, greatly mourn her loss. Mrs. Schurman wasi in her 58th year ¦ and was: the daughter of Mrs. and- the late Geo. Momberger. Besides her husband-she is survived by six sons and four daughters and eight grandchildren.. Miss Reva Zink, of Baltimore, has returned home -after spending * some time with Miss Myrtle Hurline. J A RRETTSVILLE. Dr. and Mrs. E. B.
