Armacost and Mrs. Elizabeth Peregoy, were visitors Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Prank Bossom. Mr. and Mrs. John Peregoy and daughter^ Mildred and Ruth and son, John, spent Sunday at the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Haile, of Hereford. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Winemiller, Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Ashe, of Baltimore, and Mr. House were among the visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac M. Ashe. Mr. and Mrst Frank Peregoy and daughter, Dorothy, spent Sunday at the home of the former's mother, Mrs. Iiula Martin. Mr. and Mrs. John. Wilhelm and children recently visited her parents, Mrs. Florence Zencker, of Mt. Crmel. Mr. Haze and Mr. Gwinn Cox, of Baltimore, spent the Fourth with relatives here. Mr. Edward Price, of Baltimoret spent the Fourth with his sister, Mrs.' Lula Martin. Mrsd. Harrison Cox spent a part of the past week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McHare, of Foreston. Mr. John Seaks has purchased a Case tractor. Mr. John Blizzard and daughter, Ethel, and Mr. G. Smith, of Finksburg, and Elva and Sadie Cox were visitors Sunday at the home of Mrs. J. T. Haile. -o- FULLERTON. Mrs. Catherine Leitner, daughter of Daniel and Mary B. Leitner, of Baltimore, aged 29 years, died after a short illness. Mrs. Leitner was a resident of this section. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery on Monday morning. Mr. Andrew Kreit, a popular young farmer near Putty Hill avenue, was overcome by the heat during the early part of last week while working in the field. He was rushed to the hospital. Spinal meningitis developed and he died last Friday night. He leaves a widow and two small children. The funeral took place Tuesday morning from St. Joseph's Church at 9 o'clock with a requiem mass for the repose of his soul. Much sympathy is expressed on hia< sudden demise and for his family. Mr. George Seifert, while forking up straw accidently drove the pitchfork through his foot and left a very painful wound. Farmers are up to the neck in work trying to market the cherries, strawberries, peas, beans, etc., on account of thhe shortage of labor. They are doing well. Very few expect any holiday on account of the rush. The heavy rains on Friday left a trail of work in its/ wake in the shape of huge washouts, Lightning and thunder was terrific. Fruit of all kinds promises to be a bumper this season. RASPEBURG. The Adult Bible Class of Gatch M. E. Church spent a day at Miller's Park, in celebration of the Fourth. The Community Bible Class of Over-lea, s/pent Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Umlauff, at Betterton. A large crowd „went by boat, and were greeted at trie, pier in Betterton by Mr. and Mrs. Umlauff, who were former members of the Class and at one time lived in Overlea. ' A fine day and a lovely trip was enjoyed by all. Garden Rebekah Lodge held its installation on Tuesday night and there was a large gathering to witness it. Mrs. Louis|e Schuler, of Overlea, was made Noble Grand, and Mrs. Jennie Williams, of Raspeburg, Vice-Grand. Mrs. Mary R. Scheck, of Baltimore, assisted by Mrs. Mollie McCormick and Mrs. Hattie Pumphrey and Mrs. Anna Grace, had charge of the installation. The children in the community of Kenwood held a lawn fete on Monday afternoon for the benefit of the Fres,h Air fund, and a good little s)um was realized. The fete was held on the grounds of Mr. George Ode, the Kenwood storekeeper. MANOR QliEN. Miss Kathryn Rehberger entertained the choir of the Arlington Presbyterian Church at the home of her parental, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rehberger. Mr. Carroll S. Amos, of Baltimore, spent Sunday at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Amos entertained at dinner Monday Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Laudeman, of Baltimore. A very enjoyable Fourth of July celebration was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Treut. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Amos, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Laudeman, MrsV Jacob Reuter, Mr. C.
