Much sympathy is expressed for Mr. John ] Myers, who lost his barn and, two hordes by fire last Sunday, and Mr. Wm. Crossmore, who lost his canning house, machinery and last year's pack as well as this year's by fire early on Sunday morning.
Hillen Morgan, who waa kicked in the eye by a horse on Sunday is at St. Joseph's Hospital and is getting along nicely. The doctors are not sure they can save the sight.
The stork visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Diehl on Tuesday and left a fine baby girl.
Mr. and Mrs. R. Howard Chapman, of Philadelphia, are guests of relatives here.
Mr. Charles B. Chapman, of Towson, spent the week's end with relatives here.
Misses Marion C. and Varina Clark, of Baltimore, who spent the summer with Mr. and! Mrs. L. G. Quinlin, have returned to their home.
The "work of straightening the road at Kingsville is being pushed ahead. It will be a great improvement.
St. John's Choir will give a concert and dance at the Casino, Upper Falls, on Saturday, October 2.

At the last meeting of the General Aid Society of Long Green Circuit it waa decided to hold a circuit supper at Shirley Hall on Friday evening, October 1. Mrs. Joshua Hammond, of Upper Palls, is chairman of the committee and it is hoped everyone will do their best and make the affair a success. If Friday evening should be stormy the supper will be served Saturday evening. Come, bring your friends. Supper will be served from 6 to 10 P. M. Proceeds for the benefit of the new parsonage.
Fork M. E. Mite Society held its regular meeting last Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. B. C. Holland. Those present decided to hold an oyster siup-j per in Shirley Hall October 23. Final i arrangements will be made at the next ¦ meeting.
