The president of the Rural Life Club of the Sixth district and his indefatigable worker, Mr. Bergen Brown, corresponding secretary, are stretching every nerve to make the corn congress of this year outstrip all former occasions. So if all the persons interested will only lend a helping hand the "upper end," as it is familiarly known, will have an exhibition that will be a credit not only to the farming interests, but for every avenue which makes for progress in a community. The funeral services of Mr. Samuel Marshall, of Philadelphia, was held at the church here Friday of last week. He was 70 years of age and was well known in this communitp. Mrs. George Peregoy entertained on Friday of last week Mrs. Roy Kidd and daughter, Loi^; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Dunkel and Mr. Lawrence Kidd. -o- BORING. funeral took place Monday. His mains were laid at rest in the cemetery at Reiserstown. A wife and 11 children are left to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. WOODLAWN. The quartette of Chatsworth Church was present at Emmart's Church last Sunday afternoon and sang. The house on the place formerly owned by A. G. Schultz was burned to the ground last Tuesday. The chimney caught on fire and in a few minutes the fire was in the kitchen. Several of the neighbors heard the cry of fire and rendered what assistance they could. Several pieces of furniture were saved. Messrs. Edward Kirk and Stephen Keifer both of Arlington, will have charge of Emmart League service tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Devilbiss and Mrs. Myers spent Sunday visiting at Mt. Zion. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Armacost and Dr. Hugh Gill, of Baltimore, spent last Saturday visiting here.
