Miss Nellie Alban entertained the following- guests on Sunday: Misses Mary Carr, Mabel Stifier, Florence Miller and Messrs. Gilbert Fowble, Wm. Carr, Russell Miller and Clarence Alban. . Miss Elsie Fowble spent Sunday with her grandparents in Hampstead. Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Fowble and daughter and little Miss Laura Albers/ spent the week-end in Baltimore. Miss Mary Carr will entertain some friends in honor of her class-mate. Messrs. Russell Miller and Wm. Carr spent Thanksgiving at their respective homes. There will be preaching at 2.30 tomorrow, following the Sunday School, which will begin at 1.30 o'clock. Quite a number of our folks answered the fourth roll call of the Red Cross. Mr. and Mrs. "William Henry enter-taned Mr. Harvey Henry and two sons, Harvey and George, and daughter, Gladys, and Mr. Nutenberger and Mr. Kelly, of Chestnut Ridge last week. Mis^ Matrona Henry spent the weekend with Miss Addie Wilhelm, of For-eston. Let us hope that a large number of our patrons will journey to Towson on Wednesday morning next in the interest of education to petition the County Commissioners to grant the raise in teacher^' salaries and thus' raise the standard of the teaching force of the county. Mr. Joseph Ebaugh, of Baltimore, has bought a house and lot near Stiltz. which was formerly owned by Mr. W. Forhman. Mr. Jacob Bollinger, who now resides on the old Stocksdale farm, has purchased the William Hare farm. Mr. Francis Norris has removed from his home near Bentley Springs to Baltimore. M. Frank Wilson Gessford, ston of the late James and Elizabeth Gessford, was buried at Mt. Zion M. P. Church on Tuesday evening. He was a native of this community, but 'more recently lived in the West. Two brothers and a sister survive him. JACKSONVILLE. There will be services at the Reformed Church tomorrow at 3 P. M. by Rev. Kratz. All welcome. A surprise party was given to Mrs. Walter Holloway last Saturday evening in honor of her fifty-fifth birthday. A very pleasant evening was spent by all. Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Gress'inger and children, of Baltimore, spent the weekend with relatives 'n this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gertiner, of Monkton, spent Sunday with Mrs. Annie Trapp. Mr. Joseph Lins, Sr., who was confined to his home with a sore foot, is much improved. Mrs. Annie- Klein and Mr. Henry Klein s/pent Sunday in Harford county with relatives. Miss Marie E. Lins spent the weekend at the home of her parents. ------------o------------ GRACE. Mr. Samuel Morningstar is quite ill with pleurisy. Mr. William Devers is spending the holiday with his parents at Covington, Va. Mr. Charles Eckers left on Wednesday for Elmira, N. Y., where he will accept a position with the American Telephone Company. FULLERTON. On account of the laying of pipes in the middle of the road between Herring Run and Franklin avenue, farmers are very much inconvenienced, having to detour to Harford road. Mr. Jacob Winkler's sale on Wednesday drew a very large crowd, and everything went off like buckwheat cakes. The farm was sold for $8,000. On Sunday night two white and one colored men were hanging around the Greene garage suspiciously for a long time. Finally Mr. Greene, accompanied by a friend, asked what they wanted. One of the men opened his overcoat and displayed a badge, saying, I am an officer and am looking out for whiskey. They were armed. Mr. Greene was prepared to give them a warm reception. The Woman's Missionary Society at Hoshall's Church was reorganized last Sunday. The following officers were elected: Mrs. Charles Still, president; Mrs. Frank Alban, secretary, and Mrs. Harry Krebs, treasurer. Hoshall's U. B. Chuch will hold an oyster supper on December 3 and 4. Mrs1. Rosa Shriver and son, of Hanover, are visiting the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Spicer. Mis$ Olive Carr spent the week-end with Miss Ruth Krebs. RIDERWOOD. Revival services will begin at Hunt's M. E. Church tomorrow night and continue every night during the week except Saturday. Mrs. J. Hammond, of Upper Falls, is visiting her niece, Mrs. H. A. Harris. Miss Katherine Sheaffer is spending the Thanksgiving holidays with the Misses Wier.
