A meeting- of the members of the White Hall Farmers' Club and Improvement Association will be held next Tuesday night when business of special importance will be considered.
Next week will mark the beginning of the .butchering season.
Mrs. Mary Ellen Almony, wife of Mr. Joseph Almony, died at her home at Madonna, Harford county, on Monday. Her funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon from her late home. Services were held at Bethel Presbyterian Church on Wednesday and burial was in the church cemetery. She was Miss Horn before her marriage.
The month of November has made a record of more cloudy days and less sunshine than has been known for the last decade. Many of our farmers have taken advantage of the mild weather and have about finished husking their corn. The crop was a large one, but the quality does not come up to last year's.

Miss Lida Slade entertained the White Hall Book Club on Saturday afternoon.
The White Hall Paper Mill Company is now closed for he purpose ' of repairing and extending its. plant and expect to resume operations in the early part of the year.
Special services are being held at Vernon M. E. Church. The pastor, Rev. E. L. Hudson, is being assised by Miss Jennie Smith, the National Railroad Evangelist, and Mrs. Lula B. Schaeffer, the great gospel singer. The meetings will continue until Sunday evening.
We are pleased, indeed, to extend our congratulations to the "Editor" upon his recent marriage, and tender our best wishes to the young couple.

We are called upon to chronicle the death of Mrs. Susie L. Baker, wife of James B. Baker, of York, Pa. She was taken to York Hospital on Monday of last week, and on Tuesday the doctor decided upon an operation, but owing to her frail physical condition she never rallied, and passjed away on Friday morning. Her funeral took place on Tuesday at 12 o'clock at the M. P. Church. Services were conducted by Rev. John Bieri, of Siloam M. E. Church, Philadelphia, a former pastor of the deceased. She had long been a member of the M. E. Church. A husband, a daughter, and a sister survive her. Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late Abraham Shaver, at one time a prominent paper maker of this community, where the deceased was born and grew to womanhood.
Mr. William Gammill, a grands|on of Mrs. Sarah J. Gemmill, of this village, spent Sunday with his grandmother and aunts. He is a student at the University of Maryland.

Mrs. Katie Taylor, formerly of this place, but now a resident of Washington, D. C, spent the week-end here, calling on her old friends.
Mr. Jacob Ebaugh and family, Mrs. Ebaugh, of Baltimore, and Miss Helen Houseman, of York, Pa., spent a week at the home of Mr. and MrS. Lewis S. Bowman, Mr. Marven S. Hildebrand and Miss Eva E. Whitecraft, of Rock Chapel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Whitecraft,were married on last Saturday night at the Evangelical parsonage, New Freedom, by the Rev. J. A. Schultz. Their many friends wish them a happy voyage over the matrimonial sea.
A family reunion was held .on last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Alice LaMotte. A large number of guests were present.
Misses Isabel Whitecraft and Juliett Almony, of Maryland Line, spent last Saturday and Sunday with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Wiley McDonald.
The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Sykes took place Sunday morniug from the, residence of her daughter, Mrs. L. C. Fulton. Interment was in the Maryland Line Cemetery. Rev. J. J. Rush, pastor of the church, officiated. Her age was1 86 years. The pallbearersi were Harry Waltemyer, Lee Lentz, Horace Cooper, W. H. Taylor, Wm. Gruel and Edward Koller.

The oyster supper held on last Friday and Saturday evenings proved a success. The folks who attended were entertaned, and the club realized in the neighborhood of $250. They wish to thank the donors for their liberal donations and patronage.

The Aid Society of the M. E. Church was entertained on Wednesday evening of last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Breuhl. There was a good attendance. After the business of the evening had been transacted refreshments were served. The Society reported $80 made at the oyster supper in November.
Miss Leona Cofiell entertained the M. C .M. Club at her home on last Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Harry Miller, who has been on the sick list, is improving.

A very pretty wedding took place on Thanksgiving evening at Trinity Lutheran Church when Miss Frances C. Susemihl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Susemihl, and Mr. Harry R. Norman, of Philadelphia, were married. Rev. Paul W. Tany, pastor of the church, performed the ceremony.

Mr. George F. HDyeman, of this olare, who was operated on last week for appendicitis at the Maryland General Hospital, is reported as doing well.
Mrs. Catherine Hoffstetterj, one of the oldest residents) of this neighborhood, suffered a stroke of paralysis last week, and is in a critical condi-ton.
On Monday evening the members of Garden Rebekah Lodge No. 33, gave Mrs. Laura A. Balster a surprise at her home on Montavia avenue. There were about fifty members present and a most enjoyable evening spent.
The residents along the Belair FO'a8' are very much inconvenienced by the road being closed betwen Franklin /avnue and Southern avenue.. Water mains are being laid to Overlea. There is also great need for a sidewalk, as accidents are reported daily, as this is one of the most conjested thoroughfares leading from the city.
