The .county school will close for the iholidays on Thursday, December 23, and reopen on Monday, Januory 2. Miss L. Burton, who has been suffering with tonsilitis for a few days, isl able to attend school again. Mr. James Burton spent Sunday last I in Pennsylvania. I Mr. Clarence Smith, of Baltimore, 'was the guest of his parents, Mr. and ^Mrs. Ira Smith last Saturday and Sun-I day. The young folks of Waugh M. E. Sunday-school are planning for a i Christmas entertainment in the near future. The date will be set next week. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Amrein and children, and Raymond Wisnom, of Parkville, visited their relatives here last Sunday. . Mr. John Schneider has returned (from a visit to his sister, in Philadelphia. Mrs. Annie Schneider, of Pallston, has returned to her home after visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. ; and Mrs. John Schneider, of near here. On next Tuesday night, December 21, the teacher and pupils of Oakland School are going to hold a stocking social and Christmas bazar at the school. Ice cream, cake, candy and lots of other good things will be for sale. Don't fail to attend and bring your friends along. The proceeds will be for the benefit of the school. The admission is free. The Epworth League of Ward's Chapel held a social on "Wednesday evening. The young people of Randallstown held a dance last Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Constantine, of Philadelphia, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Constantine, of Holbrook. Philip Pierpont, son of Mrs. Edward Pierpont,' of Woodlawn, is reported on the sick list. PLEASANT GROVE. We are having some fine weather for this season of the year. Mr. Cleveland Bratherton, of Baltimore, spent last Saturday with his brother, Mr. Wm. J. Bratherton, 0f this place. Mr. James Wilhelm has purchased a Ford car. They were carried into the office of Dr. Fritz, opposite whore the accident occurred, where they were given medical aid. They wnre later taken to their home at Belmar. Overlea M. E. Sunday School is preparing for its Christmas treat and entertainment. The Christmas music is very pretty, and the carols ar° b^ing rehearsed for Sunday after Christmas. Mr. N. J. Herbert has enlarged his confectionery store and addQd more stock, and the extra space allows him to rent a portion of his store for other purposes. This community is growing rapidly, and there are some wonderful opportunities to be found here. During the past week most everyone did their butchering, and there were some very fine porkers killed. McMann, who was !stricken with paralysis about a week ago, died Tuesday at the home of his brother, Mr. Joseph McMann, and was buried last Thursday in Jessup Cemetery. Mr. McMann, who was 69 yoa-s old, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frisby McMann, and is survived by four brothers.
