Things have reached a pretty pass in Catonsville, where a youth can't steal a midnight kiss from his sweetheart without being suspected ot being one of the gang of thieves who have robbed a number of houses there recently.
It's come to the point where youths visiting their Catonsville sweethearts must leave early unless they want to be cross-questioned for an hour or so by the police. A warning to this effect has been issued following the apprehension of a youth early one morning recently who was running for the last car to the city after bidding his sweetheart good-night.
Halted by the police, who thought he was a member of the burglar gang, the youth told them where he had been and why he was running. It was not until the police had taken the youth back to his sweetheart's home to confirm his story that he was released. Then he had missed the last car to Baltimore and was forced to walk four miles to Irving-ton.

Rapid growth of the local Girl Scouts movement and the council's approval of the methods used by the Alliance to raise funds for social and charitable organizations were given by the council in its letter as reasons for desiring to become a member agency of the Alliance,
"We have come to the definite conclusion," the letter stated, "that, in order to respond adequately to the rapidly growing interest in scouting, the energy and the time of the council should be given to the training of leaders and to the extension, standardization and more careful supervision of the Girl Scouts work, and not so closely confined to raising of funds."
