Lindsay Clark, has purchased the Valley View Farm at Oakleigh Station, on the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad, near Towson, and which was part of the estate of her father, the late Duane H. Rice, and who conducted there one of the famous stock farms of Maryland. The purchase price was $35,000. The deed conveying the property to Mrs. Clark was filed on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Clark have lived on the property since the death of Mr. Rice. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED. The engagement is announced of Miss Mary Nichols Newman, daughter of Mrs. Spencer Groome Newman, of Centreville, Md., to Mr. Avra Melvin Warren, formerly of Grays, United States Consul in East Africa and Zanzibar.
