| A SPOILED RECORD VOYAGE.—The largest ship in the American merchant marine, the S. S. Leviathan, stuck fast in the mud at Rob-bins Reef, upper New York Bay. The giant vessel had just completed what was to be her record-breaking round trip when, owing to dense fog and slight miscalculations, ran on to the tnud banks skirting the narrow channel. The united efforts of a score of tugs were necessary to refloat her after having been stranded for six hours. The ship suffered no serious damages.
