THE JEFFERSONIAN, TOWSON, MARYLAND Saturday, May 3, 1924—Page (Continued from Page 2) Samuel A. Brooks, Mt. Oarmel— They ought to be pulled down. They are bad things. It was bad enough when we had 20-mile speed limit signs through Hereford; now it's worse than ever. Wm H. Green, Kingsville— Signs should be put up to go slower instead of faster. The 35-mile speed limit signs may be alright in open country. Mrs. J. F. H Gorsuch, Fork— Just today I was watching chil- Sport Touring $915 F.O.B. Mrs. Edward Burton, Upper Falls— I certainly do not approve of the 35-mile speed limit signs, especially when children living in the rural sections are compelled to use the roads going to and from school Mrs. Benjamin D. Williams, Rider-wood— The signs are alright—the speed limit all wrong. Where children must walk the roads 20 miles is fast enough. Mrs. Geo. M. Klmberly, Catonsville— My electric coupe cannot make 35 miles an hour, so the speed limit does not worry me, but its entirely too fast on roads which pedestrians are compelled to use. R. A. Duke, President Pikesville Improvement Association— Speaking for the Pikesville Im- i provement Association, I might say ] that the Association has already for- | warded a letter to the State Roads Commission requesting the removal of the 35-mile speed limit signs John Henry White, Back River— I ain't never been in er automobile yet, and don't expect ter git in one, but durn if I'm anxious ter git bumped off. Them 35-mile speed limit signs means a lot of us is going ter git bumped off. Mrs. Wm H. Pearson, Butler— There is entirely too much recklessness on good roads now, and for the State Roads Commission to tell all sorts of drivers to go to the limit is criminal. Clayton Wisnom, Hydes— No judgment whatsoever was used in placing the 35-mile speed limit signs—whoever had charge of the work should have consulted local people as to danger points. Isreal I. Berlin, Texas— Very poor judgment has been used in placing the 35-mile speed limit signs. ----------o---------- JURORS FOR MAY TERM OF COURT DRAWN. Nothing impresses the casual visitor to this community more than the wide extent of the suburban developments, according to J. W. Holloway For many miles in every direction spreads the vista of picturesque homes of peace and contentment. The public outcry against existing transportation facilities and the great difficulty of meeting the demand for trolley service in the con stantly growing circle of suburban development emphasizes the value of developments within the service-zones. The tracts still available for de velopment along the arteries of transportation are getting scarce. One of the few remaining tracts is the Teipe farm at Arbutus, which has recently passed into the hands of the J. W. Holloway Company, developers. Twenty-five acres of this farm, fronting on the Halethorpe car line, were purchased last fall. Development work, including grading, drainage, streets and concrete sidewalks, has been in progress all winter. When completed the improvements will include water, gas and electricity. —--------o---------- TWO INJURED IN RACER-DIP MISHAPS.
