"Wookstock, immediately upon tbe stage road
lending-from Alexandria to Fredericksburg,
being' at the head of tide water, on Aquia
Creek, in Stafford county, state of Virginia,
¦where a'Miliis greatly wanted, for the accom-
modation cf the town & neighborhood (exclu-
sive of an extensive back country, peculiarly
adapted to the raising of wheat, their staple
commodity) beingno vent for the sale of their
wheat to- advai tage, without shipping; it to
Alexandria, Baltimore and other seaport mar-
kets.
My necessity and inability to improve, the
seat and build thereon, are the sole reason* for
selling this valuable property ; my wish, there--
fore, is to sell to some person well versed in
the Milling business, on the modern, plan,
whose inclination and ability will induce then}
to improve it immediately. To such a charac
ter the terms of sale will be made easy and
accommodating. I therefore omit any further
description, presuming no person will make
such purchase, without viewing the situation,

mediately above the present mills, extremely
well calculated for a Paper-Mill, or any other
factory, Without in the least interfering with
the ether mills. The advantages attending
thLs property are numerous, and of a nature
which rarely characterize singular establish-
ments. Situates in tbe vicinity of so import-
ant a ma! ket as New-York, and on so respect-
able a navigation as Hudson river, the oniy
route for the produce of the Northern and
Western World, a facility of purchasing the
wheat at the mill, and of sending the produce
to market, is here experienced to an ex-ent
which no other situation can boast of. Fiom

factured .'annually iictween March and January,
and from 60 to 70,000 could with equal ease
be ground were the winter season excluded,
which of late years has been so mild that the
interruption of the navigation'has seldom been
of long continuance.
The security and convenience of a sloop of
any burthen lying so contiguous to tke mill
that the elevators discharge the cargo where-
ver the Miller wishes to deposits it, and the
facility of loading the flour on board immedi-
ately from the Mill door, so materially dimi-
nishes labor and expedites business that one
vessel will be found sufficient to serve the fac-
tory, and perforin more than two ordinarily
do in such employ.
Also, a Tract of 1000 acres of Land, situat-
ed about 60 chains from the above Mills, well
covered with timber, on which is an excellent
iron mine and through which the Buttermilk-
Fall stream passes, affording several situations
or erecting of iron works.
The estate will be sold on reasonable tern-is,
slid property in or near the city of Baltimore
will be taken at a fair valuation for one half of
the amount if required.

November 26, 1806.
ON application to the judges of the said
county court, by petition in writing of George
Buchanan, of said county, praying the benefit
of the " act tor the relief of sundry insolvent
debtors," passed at November session, 1805,
on the terms mentioned in the said act j a
schedule of his property and a list'of his cre-
ditors, on oath, as far as tie can ascertain them,
as directed by said act, being annexed to his
petition j and the said county court being sa-
tisfied by competent testimony, that the said
George Buchanan has resided the two pre-
ceding years within the state of Maryland,
prior to the passage of the said act ; and the
said G. 01 ge Buchanan at the time of present-
ing his petition as aforesaid, having produced
to the said court, the assent in writing of so ma
ny of his creditors as have due to them the
amount of two-thirds of the daibls due by liim
at the time 0 ('passing the act:
It is thereupon adjudged and ordered, by
the said court, that the said George Bu-
chanan (by causing a copy of this order to be
insetted in some one of the news-papers in
the city of Baltimore, every other day, for three
months, successively, before the fourth Mon-
day in March next) give notice to his credi-
tors to appear before the said county court, at
the court-house in the said county, atlO o'clock,
in the forenoon of the said fourth Monday in
March next, for the purpose of recommending
a trustee for their benefit, on the said George
Buchanan, then and there taking1 t'te oath by
the said act prescribed for delivering up his
property.
