May next, I mean to offer, and will most as-
suredly dispose of to the highest bidder, on
twelve months credit, all that valuable Pro-
perty, consisting of about one hundred and
thirty acres of LAND, late the property oi
Cooper and Odell, which has been at differ-
ent times offered ; on which is erected a huge
Merchant Mill, with two pair of stones, a Saw

THE Directors, taking into consideration
the propriety of procuring a Lot of Grodno,
in a convenient situation, Onvvliich might ncrc-
after be erected a commodious building for the
deposit of the books of the company ; and be-
lievingthat the interest ofthe institution would
he best promoted by their being able to secure
such a Lot, ut the present time, hereby request
the Members oi'the Company to give their at-
tendance in tlie Library-Room on the twenty.
siith day of May instant, at eleven o'clock, A
M. then and there to advise and determine on
the following Resolutions, which, if agreed to
at two successive meetings, will thenceforth
form a part of the constitution :
1. Resolved, That every Member of the Li-
brary Company of Baltimore sh.il pay annually
the sum of Two DoKais, additional to I.is pre-
sent annual contribution, for eight successive
years ; which payments may be enforced in
the same manner as is prescribed for compel-
ling the payment of the usual annual contri-
butions.
2. Resolved, That the Directors of the Li-
brary Company of Baltimore be and are hereby
authorised and enjoined to form a fund, to be
composed of the additional annual payments of
two dollars, together with such part of the
accruing monies of the Company as they in
their discretion may, from time to time, set
apart for lli e said purpose, toward* the pur-
chase of a suitable Lot of Ground, ar.d erect-
ing a commodious building for the deposit of
tin; Company's books, for the extension of the
institution and maintenance of the same.
3. Resolved, That the Directors, .whenever
they mayjudge. it proper, shall apply to the ge-
neral assembly of Maryland, for permission to
establish a lottery or lotteries, to aid the said
fund, for the purposes and uses before men-

THE Stockholders will take notice, that
agreeably to the charter of the said bank, an
election will be held at the banking house, in
Calvert-street, on Monday, the first day of
June next, between the hours of 9 o'clock, a.
m. and 3, p. M. for fifteen Directors, to conduct
the affairs of the said bank for the ensuing
twelve months, nine of which fifteen director*
shall be practical mechanics or manufacturers,
within the description contained in the follow-
