Therefore, he ear- nestly requests those who may need assistance in the complaint above alluded to, that they make seasonable application tnerrder to obtain a timely relief—Says a iiUte and learned gentle- man of Ibis country—" Except the hne pox,{Xo which this is similar and equal) a discovery so important and so i/'•_.; and wond'-rf;;!, and nthe. highest degree of art discovered musieel in-trumeot, has ne- ver Jj.en ki '.--.; -i fcfc musical world, produc- es the soft and swelling notes of the violin by aperpcto-d and iiiulorm iViction of an end- less and ai-ifuliy constructed band or bow, excites at the same tune the grave and m. jos- tle tones of an organ. This instrument is play- ed like a piano or organ but in such a manner that the ear may be delighted with the most pure and perfect sounds of a grand piano, with or without the accompaniment of the touching tones of the violin or roiling sounds of an organ. The most ingenious artists of England and France have long labored on a discovery of an instrument of this kind, but in the course of their tedious experiments have failed, in the attempt, and at last declared this possibility impossible, as an experience of three years, during which time this instrument was accom- plished, proves.
