Nostras nee erubuit Silvas habitare Thalia.
aduhor's advertisement
Many of the following poems were written
before the author attained bis sixteenth jeai.
The public must estimate their merit. The
author will not assume to himself so much sto
icium as to expriss an indifference to tlie.-r
fate ; but whatever that n,ay be, he will at
Irast have the consolation to refle. t, that the}
do not contain one sentiment hostile to the
strictest principles ot religion and morality.
The work will he printed on a very superi-
or quality tl»ick post, and a handsome tjpe.
The publishers having dterminedto spare no
expence, subscribers may rest assured the
work shall be executed in a stjle which shall
do honor to Baltimore printing.
It being nt present impossible to ascertain
the extent of the work, the publishers are una-
ble to determine the price at which it shall be
sold to non-subscribers ; but they pledge them-
selves that, to subscribers, it shall not exceed
75 cents neatly bound in Boards.
The extraordinary encouragement already
afforded (more than three hundred names be-
ing obtained) has induced the publishers lo
commence the work. It is now in press, and
it is expected will be ready for delivery some
time in October
A list of the subsoribers' names will be an-
nexed to the work.
Subscriptions received by the respective
