Proposal
Of COLE & I BONSAL. & JOHN VANCE
St CO for publishing
A collection of original Poems,
By GARRETT BARRY, Esquire,
Of Baltimore, Attorney at Law.
Nostras nee erubuit Silvas habitare Thalia.
Aiiuhob's advertisement.
Many of the fellow ing poems were writ-ten
before the author attained his sixteenth year
The public must estimate their merit. The
author will not assume to himself so much sto
icism as to express an indifference to the r
fate ; but whatever that may be, he will at
least have the consolation to refleit, that they
do not contain one sentiment hostile to the
sttictest principles ot religion and morality.
CO
The work will he printed op a very superi
or quality thick post, and a liandsome type.
The publishers having determined to spare no
expeuce, subscribers may rest assured the
work shall be executed in a style which shall
do honor to Baltimore printing.
It being nt present impossible to ascertain
the extent of the work, the publishers are una-
ble to determine the price at which it shall he
sold to non-subscribers ; hut they pledge them-
selves that, to subscribers, it shall not exceed
75 cents neatly bound in boards.
The extra ordinary encouragement already
afforded (more than three hundred names be-
ing obtained) has induced the publishers to
commence the work. It is now in press, and
it is expected will be ready for delivery some
time in October.
A list of the subsoribers' names will be an.
nexed to the work.
Subscriptions received by the respective
booksellers, and by the publishers.
