I. PARISIAN DRESS. Pantaloons are entirely abandoned by the young men of fashion. Some have retaken the spencer, but they are few. The rodingots with collars are entirely given up to the footmen. The coats f r the winter, sword and hat with a plumet, will be of grande p.rure. Grey striped velvet and shag are fash- ionable for the breeches. In careless dress, or at the theatres, a young man ought to have a round Dutch hat of wide rim, halt raised ; velvet or shag breeches, the color ef de:id leaves ; Suwar- low boots ; a coat that, buttoning displays the shape, and m-tkes it appear arched. But above all, it is by the number of waist- coats that they judge of the elegance of a person : it is necessary to have at least two ; but the greatest taste is to have three or four one over the other. There is at this moment a very serious subject of dispute between thejeunes decants —Those that do not dance have ad >pted the shoes long and very high ; those that pretend 11 danoe wety, wish their shoes to- lerably low, with a square silver buckle a point de diamant. The weekly paper, L'lnlifensoble, gives the following advice to young men : •¦ A fine presence requires an English head, Ita- lian eyes, a German hand, a French shape, and a Spanish leg." When one has a female child, she must be named Z.,phlora, Vesta, Maria, Martha, Palmira, Olivia, or Minerva, When it is a boy, Werter, Primrose, Porphire, Numa, Lioncel, Christiern, Ed- gar, Anacreon, or Abel. To complete the most exquisite taste, he must be named Ossian, Oscar, or Fingal. From the Merchants' Cvfee-Hcuse Bceks. October 24.
