| Pi Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Praises AFRO Coverage of Salisbury Lynching. To the Editor of the AFRO: The Pi Omega Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity takes this opportunity to add its praise to the many favorable comments that you have received from individuals and perhaps other newspaper organizations, apropos to your splendid seemingly most complete and exhaustive report of the recent Salisbury lynching. At its first meeting held, since this atrocious murder was committed by that group of savages, the chapter took up the discussion of the lynching and the part your wonderful newspaper played in placing the facts surrounding it before the world in such a pronounced way. Pi Omega Chapter feels proud to know that the Commission of Award of the Maryland Negro Achievement Medal for the year 1931 saw fit to award it to the editor of this fine paper. The chapter is even more thoroughly convinced now that the commission was extremely wise in its award. The first meeting of the year of this chapter brought out an almost one hundred per cent attendance of its actively enrolled members. After a hearty discussion of the lynching by those present at the meeting it was believed that you and your able staff | would like to know that an organization of this kind had discussed your I splendid service to the race, the nation and the world at large. A motion was then passed for the appointment of a committee to make proper expression to you and your efficient staff, that each of you might enjoy these words of commendation this time, since you must often bear the public's condemnation. The Pi Omega Chapter therefore, officially and formally most heartily congratulates the entire AFRO-AMERICAN institution for its courage, sagacity, thoroughness and service in gathering this news; in depicting it so vividly and graphically; in commenting upon it in its editorial columns so fearlessly and logically, and generally upon the display and arrangement of stories, pictures, comments and news of this most shocking and disgraceful stain upon the name of the State of Maryland.
