JAMES C. IMMEL DEALER IN SECOND HAND OIL WELL SUPPLIES OIL WELL PIPE PULLING A SPECIALTY Hydraulic and Screw Jacks, Rings and Wedges, Blocks, Lines, Casing Fishing Tools, etc. Sent Anywhere on Short Notice MARIETTA, OHIO Page # 2 - Had the Governor of Maryland set forth any jU3t reasons for this attitude which he has so strenuously taken (aside from apparent political purposes) we might have been inclined to consider hi9 viewpoint and possibly try to concur with him, or at least have tried to offer a little of sympathetic understanding. However, the Governor of Maryland has not done anything of the sort. Therefore, we feel he has shown himself to be disloyal; unpatriotic; disposed to be anarchic, etc. In fighting to amend the Constitution of the United States so ardently, those who do so, try to set forth their views in this matter a3 an attitude wholly in the spirit of "reformation." However, in the final analysis, it is nothing short of "anarchy" whether advocated by the Governor of one of our United States, or merely a "street urchin." The theory is identical. In this connection, I am making a suggestion that you reform: that you chqnge your unreasonable attitude towards prohibition: and, especially, that you make a vow to become a loyal American citizen once again. I am quite sure you will better your position throughout the nation, politically and otherwise, by following up this suggestion Furthermore, when that time arrives, it is quite possible that "mob" rule will cease to exist within the borders of your State and such disparaging "news" items will also cease to occup3'- front page space in daily news publications from time to timet I am enclosing a letter written to the Honorable Governor Emerson of Illinois under date of May 20, 1931. Possibly this copy may interest you? Governor Emerson (inconnection with the enforcement of the Prohibition Amendment as a part of the Constitution of the United States) has shown himself to be a patriotic and truly genuine American citizen, wholeheartedly and determinedly loyal to the United States and its Constitution. Yours very truly, Yours very truly, /\
