The permission of the Marshal, in the absence of the Board in such cases was sufficient. The Board also explained to the delegation that if the Anti-Saloon League desired to prefer any charges against Captain Pumphrey, Detective Hammersla, or any member of the force, the Board was ready to try such member or members. To this Mr. Nicholson, speaking for himself and his colleagues, stated that the answers received from the additional questions, as referred to above, would doubtless determine the Anti-Saloon League as to whether they would or would not file charges against any member or members of the Police Department. Complaint William G.Michael. In the matter of complaint, made by William G.Michael, as referred to in the proceedings of September 26,1902, upon the subject of an employee of his having been assaulted by a police officer, a report was received from the Deputy Marshal of investigation made by him into the case. Upon the recommendation of the Deputy Marshal, contained in report referred to, it was ordered that no further action be taken in the premises. In the matter of the complaint against Officer George A.
