30 October 8,1902, after the adjournment of the Board, that he,Justice Sauber, had been summoned as a witness in the criminal Court on October 9,1902. The Secretary also reported that he had assigned Additional Justice Neilson Poe, Jr., to sit in the place of Justice Sauber during his absence as aforesaid. The action of the Secretary was approved. Additional Justice Neilson Poe, Jr., was also assigned to sit at the Northwestern District Station-house in the place of Justice Adolph Sauber from 8 A.M., October 11,to 5 P.M., October 11,1902. Justice Charles W.Heuisler, Magistrate for Juvenile Causes, notified the Board that he desired to be absent from his duties from 8 A.M., October 11 to 9 A.M., October 12,1902. The Board ordered that Justice J.McKenny White be assigned to act as Magistrate for Juvenile causes in the place of Magistrate Heuiiler, and that Justice Reed be authorized to act as Police Justice for the Northern District during the absence of Justice J.McKenny White from the Northern District Station-house because of assignment to the Juvenile Court, as above. Complaint of Saloon Fayette & East Streets. Conduct of Negroes in that Neighborhood. Unsigned communication was received complaining of saloon corner Fayette & East streets, where, it is said, the liquor law is violated, and complaining also of negroes loafing around the corners in the neighborhood mentioned. It was ordered that the said communication be referred to the Marshal for his attention. Gambling 409 Lewis Street. Unsigned communication was received calling attention to alleged gambling place 409 Lewis street. It was ordered that the said communication be referred to the Marshal for his attention.
