A communication was received from the Marshal transmitting with his recommendation application from Officer George P.Meyer, Northeastern District, for six days leave of absence, without pay, for the purpose of securing homes for his four children, his wife having died recently. The application of Officer George P.Meyer, as above referred to, was granted. Donations. Upon the recommendation of the Captain of Detectives, approved by the Marshal, it was ordered that Detective T.B.Hall be permitted to retain ten dollars donated to him by Kennett S.Coyle, 1311 N.Calvert street, for assistance rendered in the recovery of five hundred dollars lost by Mr. Coyle. Upon the recommendation of the Marshal, it was ordered that Detective T.B.Hall and Clerk to Marshal John Swikert, Jr., be permitted to retain sixteen dollars donated to them by the Sun, American, Herald and German Correspondent for services in reading Primary Election returns, September 4, 1902. Pistols, Etc., Ordered Disposed of. The Secretary reported that the cases of the Property Room had been overhauled and that he had collected ready for disposition a lot of pistols, razors and other weapons taken from prisoners, etc., which have been in the custody of the Department one year or longer. |
