fired, complained of the manner in which he was addressed by the officers, as already referred to. Mr. Nicholai further stated that Sergeant Singer was not at all offensive in his attitude towards him, but that the language and actions of the two patrolmen were obnoxious. The Secretary was directed to inquire of Mr. Kicholai if he desired the Board to try the officers on formal charges, and laid the matter over pending reply from Mr. Nicholai. The minutes of the previous meeting. Friday, November 7 ,'^'02, were read, approved and adopted. Trials. Officer John J.Rupprecht, Central District, was tried upon, found guilty of the charge of having been one hour and three minutes behind the return of his squad (asleep on post), and fined $5.00 Officer George B.Kirby, Northwestern District, was tried upon the charge of having been under the influence of liquor while on active duty, 11.45 P.M., November 8, 1902, found guilty thereof, and fined $25.00
