| 214 members of the police department for two weeks ending December 17thf 1902, the said amount having been included in requisition No. 638 on the Mayor and City Council,but not paid. ( 3ee proceedings of December 19th,1902. Requisition Ko. 639 was also drawn on the Mayor and City Council for $36,354.32 to pay the salaries of the Marshal and Deputy Marshal from January 1st to January 15th,1903; to pay the police force for two weeks,from December 18th to December 31st,1902, and sundry bills,•- For Salaries..............§35,618.91 For Expenses............. 735.41 §36,354.32 See Requisition Copy Book. Appointment of Sergeant. To fill the vacancy in the grade of sergeant caused by the death of Sergeant John Andrew Roycroft, Eastern Districts-December 23rd,1902, the Board by the vote as hereunder shown, appointed eligible Henry R. Hill a sergeant,the said appointment to take effect January 2nd, 1903. The vote upon the appointment of Henry R. Hill a sergeant, as above, was President Upshur.........Yea, Commissioner Morris......Yea, Commissioner Fowler......Yea. Appointment of Policemen. To fill the vacancies in the grade of policeman,caused by the promotion of Officer Hanry R.Hill,as above; the promotion of Officer William S.Herrick,as referred to in the proceedings of December 22nd, 1902, and the death of Officer George W, Hutson, the Board by the vote as shown hereunder,appointed the following named eligibles po- licemen;*he said appointments to take effect January 2nd,1903 Probation Officer Charles E. Bredekamp, Probation Officer Benj.T.Duval, Probation Officer Harry Kunnecke.
