Requisition Ko. 639 was also drawn on the Mayor and City Council for $36,354.32 to pay the salaries of the Marshal and Deputy Marshal from January 1st to January 15th,1903; to pay the police force for two weeks,from December 18th to December 31st,1902, and sundry bills,•-

Appointment of Sergeant.
To fill the vacancy in the grade of sergeant caused by the death of Sergeant John Andrew Roycroft, Eastern Districts-December 23rd,1902, the Board by the vote as hereunder shown, appointed eligible Henry R. Hill a sergeant,the said appointment to take effect January 2nd, 1903.
