To'such an extent has Ararchism prevailed that the Anti Saloon League of this county had to secure the services of parties outside of the county to bring violators of the law to justice. It was in that way that Wien was brought here, and a courageous jury has adjudged the traveser guilty of the offense charged against him. The jury is to be congratulated for their courage." Here then is a wide and irreconcilable difference of opinion concerning Mr.Wien as a witness between the Police Commissioners of Baltimore City and the Judge and Jurors,Grand and Petit, of the Montgomery County Court, and we leave the public to decide between us. Another difference may also be seen in the fact that whilst Captain Pumphrey escapes without public admonition, reproof or censure even,Judge Henderson declared that both "the sheriff and several of his deputies should have been indicted for malfeasance in office,as it was clearly their duty, with the knowledge they possessed,to have suppressed these illegal places. And since you have raised, without warrant or excuse, the question of the personal character of members and their fitness for the sacred office of the Ministry,by charging them with upholding men of utterly disreputable character, blackened
