| Coal - - Contribution of Honey for Purchase of for the Poor. Twenty Dollars were received from the Marshal as having been donated by Mrs. Henry Winter Davis, 109 West Monument street, for the purchase of coal for the poor of the Southern District. It was ordered that the said Twenty Dollars be turned over to Mr. Walter S. Ufford, General Secretary of the Charity Organization Society, and the Association for the Improvement of the Condition of the Poor, in accordance with order passed by the Board December 18,1900. Appointment made Permanent. Upon the recommendation of Captain George G. Henry it was ordered that the appointment of William H. Miller as sergeant, who was appointed on probation August 22,1902 as such officer, be made permanent. The vote upon the above was as follows:- President Upshur......Yea, Commis s ione r Morri s... Yea, Commissioner Fowler...Yea. Hose for Southern District. Upon the recommendation of Captain George G. Henry, Southern District, recommended by the Deputy Marshal and approved by the Marshal, it was ordered, by the following vote, that fifty feet of garden hose be purchased for the use of the Southern District Station. The vote upon the purchase of hose, as above, was:- President Upshur.......Yea, Commissioner Morris, ..Yea, Commissioner Fowler, ..Yea. (See Exhibit No.960.) Hose for Northwestern District. Upon the requisition of Captain John A. G. Shultz, Northwestern District, recommended by the Deputy Marshal and approved by the Marshal, it was ordered that there be purchased for the Northwestern District fifty-two feet of hose. |
