Milton Slade, with th< exception of Mr. Slade; Mrs. E. A. Ber-noudy, Mrs. Robert Miller, and Mr. T W. Lytle who is now able to be out The family of Mr. James A. McComas is very much improved, after having suffered from the effects of gas escaping from a coal stove in the home. Messrs. Charles H. and S. Oscar Almony, who recently sold their farm, have purchased the 50 acre farm from Mr. and Mrs. Asbury S. Wiley, known as the Dr. Barton property. They will take possession some time in March. Mr. Howard Almony has rented the farm of Mr. J. Leonard Slade. Mr. Slade will move to his property, which he recently purchased at Vernon. Mr. Works Leon, miller at the mill of Mr. W. N. Krout, who has been at his home in Washington on account of being indisposed, has returned and resumed his duties. Miss Meyfleld Anderson, who has been acting as Superintendent of the Calvert County Hospital, at Prince Frederick, will come to her home for a few days. ------------------o------------------¦ JARRETTSVILLE. Invitations have been issued for the marriage of Miss Helen Elizabeth Cal-ary and Mr. Arnold Ayres, February 21. Miss Sara Smith spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. M. K. Smith. Mr. Charles German Spent several days at his home in Ellicott City. The funeral ofMr. Thomas Miller took place on Friday. Mr. Miller is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ella Gladden, of Baltimore, and Miss Irene Miller, of Philadelphia, and two sons Messrs. Street and Robert Miller. Burial was made at Calvary Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Butler are visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Brookhart, of Baltimore. Miss Reatha Rocock died on Satur day after a lingering illness.
