| March 6, 1920—Page 2 THE JEFFERSONIAjfy TOWSON, MARYLAND, CORRESPONDENCE (Continued from Page 1.) GRAVE RUN. The Ladies' Aid Society met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Lippy on Tuesday evening. Everyone enjoyed a pleasant evening. Refreshments were served. We were sorry to hear that Mrs. George Folk was! taken to the hospital on Sunday last. We hope her a speedy recovery. Mrs. Bessie Hale Alban died at the home of her parents on Saturday last, and was buried on Tuesday morning. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community. Miss Ada Zeigman was the guest of Miss Florence Miller on Sunday. Miss Elsie Fowble, of Baltimore, spent the week-end with her parents' here. A number of our folks attended the sale of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burke on Saturday. Messrs. William and Edmund Can-spent the week-end with their parents. Those who have been suffering with the flu, are improving. Very few new cases are reported. Preaching services are scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, preceded by Sunday school at 1.30 o'clock. Mr. William R. Miller resumed his studies at Strayer's Business College last week, after being absent on account of the illness of his father. ----------o---------- BORING. Miss Mamie Myers spent the weekend in Baltimore. Mr. Jesjsie Upperco and wife, and Mr. Leon Upperco and wife, spent Thursday in Baltimore. Mrs. Raymond Bossom and son, who have been ill . with grippe, are much improved. Mrs. Laura Gill and daughter, Ruth, and son, Harry, are spending some time in Baltimore. Mr. Leon Upperco broke hs arm whle cranking his auto on Friday last. Dr. Frank Miller, of Reisterstown, reduced the fracture. Mrs. Leander Ness has returned home after spending sjeveral days with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Morside, of Catons-ville. Mrs. Milton . Devilbliss is "spending some time with her sister, Mrs. Edgar Cullerson, of Mt. Zion, whose little daughter is very ill with flu. Mrs. Laura Hinkle and daughter, Lo-retta, of Baltimore, are spending siome time at their home in Boring. Mr. Edward Grothe spent Saturday and Sunday visiting his brother in Baltimore. Miss Ethel Canoles has been confined to the house with a bad cold. Master Howard Blizzard, who has been,confined to the house for two weeks with an abscess of the head, is able to be out again. ------------¦—o------------------ PARKTON. REISTERSTOWN. Mr. and Mrs. William Hendrix, who recently moved to the farm at Sparks, has moved back to the mill, where he was formerly employed. Mrs. Mark Miller, Mrs. Velmina Miller and Mrs. Clarence Baker, of Baltimore, visited relatives at this place last week. Mr. Norman Griffin, who has been confined to his home threatened 'with pneumonia, is able to be out again. Mr. Maurice Wheeler, of York, recently visited friends at this place. Mr. Edward Hawkins is able to be out after being confined to his home for about two months. Mr. and Mrs. John Anton have returned to their home in Delaware. Mr. and Mrs. J. Rosier will move to the new home purchased from Mr. Thomas Miller, in the near future Mrs. Rachael Thompson is still on the sick list. Louise Harden, Blanche Paln.tx', Annie Ensor and Leona Arma-cost attended a basket ball game at New Freedom on Friday night. -----------------------O----------------------¦ EVNA. The families around here that are sniftering with the flu are Mr. Harry Mays' Mr. Blaine Mays' Mr. Albert Hamilton's, Mr. Jarrett Thompson's, Mr. Herbert Foster's, Mr. Howard Buell's, Mr. Clarence Mays', Mr. William Hoffman's, Mrs. Estella Brooks', Mr. G. W. Thompson's, Mr. Freeman Miller's, Mr. James Thompson's. Mr. R. Nash's* and Mr. George Mays'. Every one is now improving. Mr. Albert Mays has sold his farm to Mr. Henry Muleback, of Baltimore, who will take possession this spring. Mr. Mays will move his family to Baltimore. Mrs. Clark Bailey and daughter, Virginia, spent the week with Dr. and Mrs; H. R. Spencer, of Baltimore. Misses Grace and Ruth Mays, of Baltimore, were week-end guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mays. Miss Celia Elliott, of White Hall, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Mary Elliott. -------------O-----'------- SUNNYBROOK. Mr. and Mrs. Levi Palmer and daughter, Virginia, of Woodberry, visited their mother, Mrs). Jennie Turnbaugh. Mrs. Oliver Eckhart, who has been sick for some time, is able to be out again. Miss Mollie Wheeler and friend, Mr. Elijah Smith, spent Sunday with friends in Hampden. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Miller are receiving congratulations on the birth of a fine daughter. Both mother and daughter are doing nicely. Mrs. Horace Royston is very sick at her home here. Quite a number of changes are being made in this neighborhood this spring. Mrs. Jennie Turnbaugh is' going to move away and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Goverman and family have moved in the place vacated by Mrs. Turnbaugh. -------------O------------- COCKEYSVILLE. The Camp Fire Girls, of Cockeysville, cleared ?185 at the box sjocial and bazar which closed Saturday night last. The sum of $36.50 will be sent to France for the education of the French orphan, Marguerite Monair, and some of the money will be donated to the milk and Ice fund of Baltimore. Misses Lulu. B. Kraus and Adelaide Royston are the guardians. Charles Bull, 28 years old. of Warren. and a member of Multiply Council, No. 4, Jr. O. U. A. M., of Cockeysville, died Tuesday afternoon, after several weeks' illness of pneumonia. He was the sjon of James Bull, of near White Hall, and brother of Clarence and Elmer Bull. -----------------------O----------------------¦ GARRISON. We regret to announce the death of one of our latest arrivals. Mr. Harper, who hasi been living with his sister, Mrs. Williams, on the Caves rood, died Sunday and was buried Wednesday at Dover Cemetery. Mrs. P. Adams and her son, who have been suffering from influenza, are now up and moving- about. Master Roy Sprinkel. the young son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Sprinkel, has gone to the hospital to submit to an operation on his legs. Mrs. Hanna, of Baltimore, is visiting her sister, Mrs. L. Goldsmith, of Garrison. -------------O------------- JACKSONVILLE. Mr. and Mrs. Cox and family are enjoying themselves in their new home, Migjs Anna M. Zinkhan was the guest of her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. H. Troyer. of White Hall. Dr. A. H. Lins has purchased a new Dodge car. Mrs. Jessie Bennett is on the sick list. Young folks around here are enjoying- themselves with dances and surprise parties. The Pjkesville Fire Engine which underwent repairs after being damaged, was placed into service recently and looks like a brand new machine. The Men's Club of Glyndon and Reisterstown, Rev. Paul Quay, president, met on Thursday at Franklin High School. Misses McAlister had as their guests Sunday Mr. Raymond Allender, Mr. F. Cornelius and Mr. Snyder. Miss Frances Rhodes, of Glyndon, is visiting relatives in Pennsylvania. Fletcher and Lucy McAlister, who hove been very ill with flu, are improving slowly at this time. Mr. Charles L. A. Heiser entertained a number of his friends at luncheon followwing the joint hunt of the Green Spring Valley and the Elkridge hounds. Mrs. Leonard Wright and daughters have been sick with grip. The Patrons' Club of the Franklin High School. Mrs. A. L. Heise, president, met Thursday, After the business meeting a literary program was given. Dr. T. J. Bland, of Baltimore, was a recent guest of Dr. and Mrs. Clinton L. Goodwin. Mrs. Milton Devilbliss, of Boring, is visiting her sister, Mrs. William Peltzer. Mrs. Seymour Ruff, Jr., has returned home after spending several weeks at Randallstown. ----------o---------- MT. ETNA. We extend congratulations to Mr and Mrs. Howard Wells, who were recently married. Mr. John Pearce is visiting relatives in Baltimore. Those who visited Miss Gladys Thompson on Tuesday night were Miss Elsie Peregoy, Miss Rosa Thompson, Messrs. Lawrence and Gilbert Thompson. Mrs. Emory Wilhelm has returned to her home here after attending the sale of her brother-in-law, Mr. Frank Eby, of Owings Mills. -0- ROCKLAND.
