The entertainment held by Granite school was a great success; quite a neat sum was realized. The object oj. this entertainment was to raise funds with which to buy a painting of John McKie, a former pupil of Granite school, who was killed in France during- the late war. He was the only boy from this vicinity who made the supreme scrifice. Dr. Shipley has moved to Woodstock. He has taken temporary residence there as the house he formerly occupied has been sold. Miss Ella Louise Kettle has been visiting her cousin, Miss Mary Grace Peach. Miss Grace Miller visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Miller for the week's end. League is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Maggie Cruoch. GARRISON. Mrs. R. Murphy and family, of this place, have recently moved into her new home on St. Thomas' .Dane, near here. Mrs. W. Armacosjt and family, formerly of Baltimore, but now of this place, has moved into the house re-crt.ly vacated by Mrs. Murphy. A strawberry festival was held at Red Men's Hall on Friday, May 28. Former Judge Allan McLane, his wife, daughter and son, will sail the middle of June and will spend the summer in Great Britain. ™tV« fair held at St. Thomas' for the purpose of equipping the dancing hall with electric Jights was a success. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Meekins, of this place, have returned home after several days at Mrs. Meekins' former home in Kent county. SHANE. There will be Children's Day services at West Liberty Church Sunday morning, June 6. Miste Hazel Starr spent last Sunday with Mrs. Harry Ritchie, of York, Pa. Mrs. Richard Anderson spent last Saturday in Baltimore. Mr. and Mrs. T. M. McGinnis, Mrs. Laura Anderson and Miss Beulah McGinnis motored to York one day last week. Mr. Jeremiah Six is still on the sick list. Mrs. S. W. Meredith is improving after a recent illness. Mr. Ralph "Wright, of York, Pa., spent the week's end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Wright. GLYNDON. A strawberry festival was held on Tuesday at All Saint's Episcopal Church, of which Rev. William T. Elmer is rector. The eighty-fifth annual commencement of the Hannah More Academy will be held June 8 in Wyman Hall of the school. The graduates are Misses Lena Hendley. of Center Crossft Va.; Mary Mcllhaney, of University, Va., ano Wollford Smith, of Chareston, Va. Miss Mary Bliss is principal of the school. TEXAS. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ensor and daughter, of Baltimore, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. John B. Ensor . Miss Winifred C. Lavin, daughter of Patrick and Anna Lavin, died on May 31. Requiem masrs was said at St. Ann's Church. Baltimore, on June 3rd. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Texas. Mr. John M.
