Mrs. Ella Baldwin and her three sons will spend the Christmas holidays with her gister-in-law, .Mrs. Harry Baldwin, of Baldwin, at a family dinner. A delegation from White Hall appeared before the County Commissioners on Tuesday and asked for the improvement of the Graystone road. The Commissioners ordered some immediate'work on the road. Mrs. Ella Baldwin entertained the White Hall Aid Society on Thursday evening. Mr. Thomas E. Baker was taken to the Franklin Square Hospital on Monday by Dr. Milner Bortner for an operation to which he submitted, and is reported as doing well. Mr .and Mrs. Tidings M. McGinnis icelebrated their silver wedding anniversary yesterday evening. Mr. Richard Winters, of Red Lion, Pa., will take charge of the White Hall Hotel on January 1, succeeding Thomas E. Baker. Not for many years have turkeys been so scarce as this year and are selling at 50 cents per pound, live weight. Mr. and Mrs. D. Owen Lytle entertained at a dinner on Sunday. OWINGS MILLS. Oscar Holbrook had his leg badly broken while helping to haul telephone poles for W .H. O'Dell, laslt Saturday, and is now at the hospital. Mrs. Walter Bell, of Holbrook, has returned after a visit to her daughter at Hillsdale. Ward's M. E- Sunday-school will hold its annual treat on Xmas night. Mt. Paran held a Yuletide entertainment at its hsfll on Thursday, after which the Sunday-school children were given a treat. A great many cedar and pine trees have been going to the city. Seymour Parks threshed out his grain on Wednesday last and had a fairly good yield. Mrs. Hayes has been under the weather of late. We extend our sympathies to our friend, Mr. William J. Peach. MT. CARMEL. HEREFORD. Sunday-school tomorrow morning at 9.30; Epworth League at M. E. Church at 7.30 P. M. Revs. Hutchison and Nicholl will preach at the Baptist Church tomorrow at 3 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yeager spent last Sunday wth Mr. J. T. Diven at this place. Mrs. Helen Domer has left for her new home in Baltimore. Cnurch was held at Palls Road last Saturday and Sunday. Dr. Ensor, District Superintendent, preached on Saturday morning, after wnich a delightful luncheon was served. He also preacn-ed Sunday afternoon. It was decided to change the preaching service at the Mt. Carmel Church from 11 o'clock to 3 P. M . Mrs. R. G. Akehurst will entertain the Aid Society of the M. E. Church at her home next week. Mrs. Edith Wagner is spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Benson. ivirs. B. G. Miller, who has been on the sick list, is improving. Church Christmas morning at 9 o'clock. _ An entertainment and dance was given Thursday evening in the town hall for the employees of the mills and their friends. The Christmas entertainment for Phoenix M. E. Church will be given on Tuesday, December 28th, in the church, fcnd on Wednesday, December 29th, Prazier P. E. Church will give a Christmas service for the children in that church. All are cordially invited to attend. GLYNDON. Rowe Price, of Pennsylvania, is spending the Christmas holidays with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. T. Rowe Price. The Christmas entertainment of Trinity Lutheran Church was held on Thursday evening. Misses . Ethel Parsons, Gertrude Fleurer and Viola Connor, teachers of Franklin High School, are spending the Christmas holidays at their homes. Miss Mildred Sauter spent Sunday with Miss Margaret Reinhold. BUTLER. GARRISON. A minstrel show was given at St. Thomas' Hall last Friday night by some of the young people of the pariah. Quite a few people attended and had a fine time. The money will go towards the parish and those in foreign lands who cannot help themselves. Mr. Frank Malsbury, of Trenton, N. J., paid his annual visit to his relatives in this State, Mr. David H. War-fel and family, of Seven Mile Lane. He left the latter's home Thursday and has gone to visit other relatives;, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Warfel, of Glen Arm, Md., where he will stop for a while. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Warfel, of Go-vans, visited the former'* brother, Mr. D. H. Warfel. Miss Mabel Stover spent last Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Stover. GRAVE RUN. it;. Falls Road Sunday-school will give its annual Christmas entertainment on Tuesday evening, December 28. Preaching at Dover M. E. Church tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock, by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Constance. The tnird quarterly meeting of Here-fore Circuit, held at the Falls Road Church last Saurday and Sunday was considered a successful meeing.
