| *' TAKES ONE HUNDRED YEARS TO BLOOM The Century plant in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, N. Y., is nourishing again. The plant, which blooms every 100 years, started growing on Decoration Day and has sprung up to 25 feet in height from a very short stub. In the 100 years it is not growing the plant draws nourishment into the roots and lower stem, and when the time comes the rich sap makes the plant grow overnight. © Keystone View IF THIS STUNT ARTIST SHOULD FALL HE WOULD BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO LAND STANDING UP.—Phillip (Jersey) Ringel thinks nothing at all of turning handsprings, standing on his head or doing any other daredevil stunt on a plane in motion. Fotograms FOUR KILLED, THIRTY INJURED IN N. Y. CENTRAL WRECK.—The Detroiter and the Lake Shore Limited trains came into collision near Savannah. The Detroiter smashed into the rear car of the Limited when a break in the train line caused the brakes on the Limited to set. The rear car, a sleeper, was wrecked, the occupants being hurled to the floor from their berths. The Detroiter's engine ploughed for fifteen feet into the rear coach of the Limited. |
