Mcintosh, Jr., and' published in full in an issue of The Jeff ersonian can readily be seen from t his "lay-out." PARKTON WOMAN, CONVICTED OF MAIL ROBBERY, GRANTED DIVORCE. Mrs. Ariel Minta Smith, of Park-ton, who testified that she is under; a suspended sentence of one year and one day, imposed by Judge John C. Rose in the United States District Court, was granted an absolute divorce from Alvin T. Smith. She was married January 9, 1922. Mrs. Smith was sentenced by Judge Rose on January 15, 1923, to a year and a day in the Essex county prison at Caldwell, N. J., for robbing the mail while she was employed in a postal station, according to her testimony in the divorce proceedings. GRADUATE OP COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL NOW TEACHER IN DELAWARE. MONKTON MAN SUCCUMBS TO PNEUMONIA. Edward Howard, aged 46, of Monkton, died on Thursday of pneumonia. He is survived by a widow, three daughters and two sons. EXAMINATIONS FOR RURAL MAIL CARRIER FOR MONK-TON DISTRICT MARCH TWENTY-NINTH. An examination will be held by the U. S. Civil Service Commission at the Baltimore City Postoffice on March 29 to fill the position of rural mail carrier at Monkton. The salary of a rural mail carrier is $1800 on a standard daily wagon route of 24 miles, with an additional $30 per mile per year for each mile or major fraction thereof in excess of 24 miles. The examination is open to only citizens who are actually residents in the territory where the vacancy exists. Extensive improvements will be made in the near future to the property recently purchased by Dr. Roy P. Smith on W. Pennsylvania avenue, Towson. C. Oscar Hook, builder, has been awarded the contract. -----------o----------- TOWSON WOMAN ILL. Mrs. Thomas J. Mr. Frank H. Phipps has provided himself with a new Hudson coach, the sale being consumated through the Towson Garage, local agents. -----------o----------- LAD SCALDED TO DEATH AT TEXAS PLANT. Scalded when he fell into a vat of boiling water Wednesday at the plant of the Williamson-Kirk Veneer Company, at Texas, Isaac Herman Brown, Jr., died at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore City. Besides his father he is survived by two sisterss, Mrs. Roscoe Bull and Mrs. Marion Eichler, and three brothers, Lewis, Arthur and George Brown. His mother died a month ago. The funeral was held at his father's home in Texas. Services were conducted at Poplar Methodist Protestant Church. PUPILS PRESENT EPISODE IN TEAPOT DOME MESS. Pupils of the Randallstown High School entertained their parents at a, meeting of the Randallstown School and Community Club at the school auditorium one night this week with episodes mentioned in the Teapot Dome oil scandal. Fire wrecked the "Silver Grill," Towson, and the apartment of Mr. M. C. Gentry, in the rear, early one morning this week. Mrs. Gentry was awakened by the crackling flames and smoke; screaming, she awoke her husband, who carried the couple's two small children to safety and returning, carried his wife to a neighbor's. Members of the Towson Fire Engine Company battled the flames for a long period when alarms were sent in to Fullerton and Pikesville. The building, which houses the "Silver Grill" is owned by Mrs. Anna M. Urban and the loss is estimated BBI IBB 1 HILLENDALE GOLF CLUB TO OPEN MAY FIRST. The Hillendale Golf Club, which purchased the former home of County Commissioner Harrison Rider, has approved preliminary sketches for its permanent home and work has started upon the building plans. The old Solomon Hillen mansion, erected in 1773, will not be demolished, but additions made which will preserve its strictly Colonial style. J.
