Forty-Three Inches Of Rain Fell, July Leading With Nearly Eight Inches—Less Than Inch In May Makes It Driest Month Of The Twelve. Prohibition had no effect upon weather conditions in Baltimorre County during 1923, for in spite of the drought during the month of May, 1923 had a large amount of rain, according to the figures of the local weather bureau. In fact, the precipitation was greater than any one of the past four years. July there was over 7 inches of rain fell during the month—to be exact, 7.57 inches. In August, 1920, 7.19 inches fell, being the closest month to the past July for amount of rainfall. For the entire year of 1923, 43.51 inches of rain fell. This is more than any of the preceding years. In May, 1923, only .83 of an inch fell for the whole month. November, 1922, only .72 of an inch was recorded. These -two are the only months in the past four years where the rainfall has been below an inch. Below is given the figures for the past four years, which make possi ble some interest comparisons.
