Mr. Baylor and his finance, Miss Estelle St. Pierre Aldridge, daughter of Mrs. James Aldridge, of Charles Town, W. Va., arrived in Baltimore to be married. A search of several hours failed to locate anyone in Baltimore authorized to issue a marriage license. As midnight neared they raced to Tow-son in an auto, as the law forbids issuance of marriage licenses on Sunday. At 11.45 they aroused G. William Parker, marriag license clerk from his bed. It was one minute before 12 when he handed them the license. The ceremony was perfomed at the rectory of Trinity Protestant Episcopal Church by the Rev. H. B. Lee, Jr., rector. Following their honeymoon, the couple will live in Hagerstown. Mr. Baylor is the son of Mrs. Charles E. Baylor of Charles Town, W. Va. The couple had been engaged six months. REV. RICHARD W. If, like tthousands of other folks, you have been thinking of the summer months with dread and promising pourself to take the family to the seaside that they may escape the uncomfortable heat, you should have little trouble in finding such a place along the shores of waters in Baltimore county. There are numerous waterfront developments within easy reach of the center of the city and the latest of these was recently opened. It is Avalon Beach, on the Middle River, and is being developed by Henry Kolb, Inc. Avalon Beach can be reached by driving along paved boulevards direct to the property by going out Eastern avenue and turning right on Bowley's Quarters road. This brings you to the entrance of the new community of waterfront homes. The beach is a sloping, sandy one, ideal for bathing, the developers say, and there are, besides the community bathing beach, inuividual beaches on each of the lots closest to the water. Trees and shrubbery surround the development, lending beauty to it. Restrictions assure prospective buyers of building sites at Avalon protection from inferior houses, the developers said. ----------o---------- HOMECOMING PICNIC MAY 30. Office space in the Court House at Towson is getting scarce. To house the newly created Metropolitan District Commission, one of the offices used by the States Attorney had to be confiscated. With the appointment of a full-time Health Officer it looks as though the Police Department, which has, shared a small office with the Health Department, will have to quit and seek quarters els'ewhere; while it has not been authentically stated, rumor has it that negotiations will be made to purchase the brick station of the defunct "Toonerville" Line that plied between Towson and Timonium, and in it establish Police Headquarters, with a lock-up and room for the Committing Magistrate at Towson. ^^| [¦¦¦¦BHBHBHHBBHHHHHHBaBBIHaaaBHBHailHE All Baltimore Dressed Meats \ Your Quality Meat Market, Inc.
