A NEW PAPER.
Proposals arc iww issuing for puU-Uhii-ig a news*
paptr on Fell's-Point, entitled
THE FEDERAL UNION.
The Editors do not conceive it necessary,
in this place, to enter into an elaborate de-
tail of their principles and. object—-k-t it suf-
fice, *hat t)ie " Federal Union" will be Is-
dependent in its principles—that nothing
will be wanting in exertion to render it wor
thy a liberal patronage. The Prospectus
will be disseminated throughout the city,
when an opportunity will be afforded the
public fur the exercise of their unbiassed
judgement.
CONDITIONS.
It is our intention to issue the " Ffdk-
rai. Union," at the comrnencem, ent, on Mon-
days, Wednesdays and Fridays— but if a
competent patronage is offorded, a DAILY
Paper will be published as scon after as ar-
rangements can be made.
The price to subscribers will he.fvs dollars
per annum—No money will be required
UNTIL THE IXPIRATION OF SIX MONTHS.
v to'.he Juterests of the commer-
cial part of the community. As they will
have advantages which bo other printers in
the city of Baltimore can possibly possess,
in the obtaining marine intelligence, their pa-
per cannot fail of being interesting to the
merchant,
Correspondences will be established .on a
permanent footing with mem of intelligence,
and opportunity, in different parts of the U.
States, and, should sufficient encouragement
be offered, in Europe, by which they will
obtain the latest and most important informa-
tion without delay ; in short, every exertion
that lies in their power will be made to
render the " Commercial Aelveriiser," inte-
,, isting and amusing.
They do not deem it necessary to give a
detail to the reader of their political opinions ;
for whatever political sentiments they may
priva'ely profess, the promulgation cf them
through a public print, they conceive, could
produce no beneficial effect either to the read-
er or to themselves :—they are anxious for
the prosperity of the U. States; and whilst the
sentiments of their hearts are favorable to the
Union, their minds shall never be swayed by
the, bickerings of political oemogogues To
preserve their paper free and uncoutsuiibvated
from the ebullitions of parti, ans, will be their
peculiar study. To miscellaneous producti-
ons, and disquisitions on subjects which may
be productive of utility, couched in av.ccnt
stylo, {'rc.K access will be ghen to their col-
ums—but communications injurious to the re-
putation of individuals, will always be re-
jected.
As the editors are the _/?;;( who have ven-
tured on an establishment of this nature ibv
some tin.-; past at Fell's-Point, they feel
cencious that the fostering aid of its citizens
will be extended towards theto with cheer-
fulness—and that their establishment will not
be permitted rodwindle into ."hing froth the
want of the the patronage of their fellow-citi-
zens. FeUVPoint has now become too po-
pulous, too wealthy, and loo respectable, to be.
entirely dependent on the town for all the
printing which it requires—They are confi-
dent that few could be found who would not
rather contribute to the support of a paper
in the midst of them, dedicated la their in-
terest, and offering so many advantages as.
the present does, than be subject to the in-
convenience of walking near a mile for all
printing requisite for their use—Besides the
inconveniences which will be removed, the
boast of supporting a paper of their own, we
are persuaded, would have no inconsiderable
weight in the minds of their fellow-citizens
of fell's Point.
They consider it as quite unnecessary to
dilate upon their own capacities—trial alone
will lie sufficient, to convince their patrons of
the correctness or incorrectness of their pre-
tensions. A long and steady application to
their business, emboldens them to come for-
ward with confidence, pledging tb< wstlVea
to execute whatever a generous public may
be pleased to favor them with, in a stile of
workmanship and correctness of judgment,
not inferior to ar\y other office in Baltiin';re.
j'OHN WANE.
