THAT agreeably to charter the Stockhold-
ers in the Maryland Insurance Company, are
called upon to renew their notes in the pre-
sent month.
Likewise, that an election for thirteen di-
rectors will be held at t'te olhxe of the said
company, on the first Monday in March next.

Land for Sale.
THE Subscriber (in virtue of a decree of
the honorable the chancellor of Maryland,
mads in the cause of Robert Fergusson v. S.
Lucket) will on Friday, the 27t!i day of Fe-
bruary next, at 12 o'clock, sell at the court-
house of Charles county, in the state of Ma-
ryland, to the highest bidder, all the estate
and interest of Samuel Lucket, of the said
County, in and to all those tracts or parcels of
land, l)ing in Durham Parish, and county
aforesaid, called Lucket's Slipe, Lucket's
Hazard, Lucket's Addition, and Lucket's
Chance, containing by estimation, four hun-
dred acres.; and in and to another tract or par
eel, lying in the said Parish, called Frog's
Nest, containing about one hundred h twen
ty.-fiyjj acres.
The terms of sale, prescribed by the de-
cree, are, that the purchaser or purchasers
pay the purchase money on the day of sale,
ornn the day of the ratification thereof, by the
chancellor, which, if ratified, shall be just
five weeks from the subscribers^ report of the
said sale—And on obtaining the chancellor's
ratification of the said sale, and on paying the
whole of the purchase money, the subscriber
shall execute a deed to the purchaser or pur-
chasers in fee simple, conveying to him or
them all the right, title, and interest of the
said Samuel Lucket, free and discbared of
all the claim of the said Robert Fergusson and
the said Samuel Lucket.
The said lands will be either sold entira, or
divided so as to suit purchasers.

Proposals are nms issuing for publishing a news-
paper on Fell's-J'oint, entitled
THE UNION. ~
The Editors do not conceive it necessary,
in this place, to enter into an elaborate de-
tail of their principles and object—let it suf-
fice, that the " Federal Union" will be In-
dependent in its principles—that nothing
will be wanting in exertion to render it wor
thy a liberal patronage. The Prospectus
will be disseminated throughout the city,
when an opportunity will he afforded the
public for the- exercise of their unbiassed
judgement.
CONDITIONS.
It is our intention to issue the " Ffde-
ral Uxiox," at the commencement, on Mon-
days, Wednesdays and Fridays—but if a
competent patronage is offorded, a DAILY
Paper will be published as soon after as ar-
rangements can be made.
The price to subscribers will be Jive dollars
per annum—No money will be reqjjired
UNTIL THE EXPIRATION OF SIX, MONTHS.
dljJ A person is appointed by the Editors,
who will wait on the citizens as soon as the
Prospectus shall have been distributed.
It is proposed to issue the paper, as soon
as a sufficient number of subscribers are ob-
tained to warrant it.
