Differing materially as to its object, both from
the elementar/treatises, and the more com-

real extent & bearings of their former studies.
" The principal material! of this work are
necessarily compiled from other books ; but a
very pleasing part of it, the delineation of na-

tincture of liberal mode ration diffused through
the whole, together with the uniform good
taste and simplicity of the style, give to it a cer-

the property of the deceased, called Grace's
Quarter j situateel in Middle-river Neck, at
the eonllux of Gunpowder river and Saltpetre
creek, by which two waters it is almost aur.
rounded. It contains about 424 acres of arable
wood and meadow land. For fertility of soil,
this place is equalled by few. To point out
the. number of natural advantages attending it,
would far exceed the bounds of an advertise-
ment. There is on it a good comfortable
House, almost new, with Kitchen, Negro
Quarter, Spring-House, with necessary out-
houses, and a largo frame Barn (erected in the
summe of 1804) with stables, cow-houses, &c.

two peach ditto, of the best of fruit, with
cherry and plumb-trees, and about 20 remark-
ably line pear trees, from the fruit cf which
alone considerable turns have been made. In
fact, no place in the country can be better
situated, either for the grazier or planter,-for
nearly the whole of the farm can he put into
meadow at a small expence. The fishery on
this place, in the season, is extremely profita-
ble ; and the shores are lin< el with wild fowl
of all kinds. It has the advantage of an ele-
gant prospect of the river and adjacert coun-
try, and goo:1, water. The distance to Balli
more by hind is 16 miles, and by water 4 or 5
hours sail.
