The lad was suspected of being not altogether honest. He says his father lives near M'Connelsburg, Pa. and his mother in Brownsburg, Va. He had on and took with him, a blue coat, and a mixed coatee, both cloth—two jackets of swansdown—3 pairs of pantaloons, 1 corduroy, 1 nankeen, and 1 home- made, with blue stripes—a fur hat—old shoes —and sundry other clothes. Any person who ¦will auprehend and bring home said boy, shall have the above reward h reasonable expences, if taken gut of the state—if 10 miles from home, 5 dollars—if 20 miles, 10 dollars—30 imiles, 15 dollars—if 40 miles, 20 dollars—if 60 miles, 25 dollars—and 30 dollars for secur- ing him in any gaol, and giving Information! so that I get him again. RAN away from Doughorageu Manor, Elk- ridge, (the summer residence of Charles Car- roll, of Carrollton, Esq.) on the i9th instant, a Negro Man, named WILLIAM ; about 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high ; of a pleasing countenance ; wears his wool platted en the Socks and behind, and turned up with a comb. His clothing that can be recollected is, a long blue cloth coat, London brown panta- loons, black ditto, new shoes with one row of hob nails round the soles ami heels. He was lately purchased of judge Chase, of the city of Baltimore Whoever will deliver the above Negro to the subscriber', at the manor on Elk- ri Ige, shall receive Twenty Dollars ; or, if secured in Baltimore jail, Fifteen Dollars, in- cluding what the law allows1. Attorney for the same, against three Casks Hardware, imported in and on board the ship called John Adams, from Liver- pool, in the Kingdom of Great Britain, for sale; which said Goods and Wares were entered in he office of the collector of the Port of Baltimore, ir. the District of Bal- more, in Maryland District, and were chargeable with duiies and customs, im- posed by the laws of the United States, and that with design to evade the said du- ties, so as aforesaid impossed and charge- able, upon said goods, they were not in voiced according to the actual cost thereof at the place of exportation, praying a con- demnation of the same according to law. And whereas, the honerahle James Houston, judge, of the said court, hath ordered MONDAY the 20th day of July, next, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, of the same day for holding a court at the Court House, in the city ot Baltimore, for said trial agree- ably to the praver of said Attorney.
