An American gentle man in Nantz. writ-
ing to his fiicud in New-York, under date
of the 7th of Nov. says,
" From the ki'V of Great Britain's pro-
clamation I am ind-c d to believe we shall
have no war. This proclamation even in
France is esteemed very moderate ; for all
the nations of Europe cry out against the
principle of protecting military deserters,
and this nation particularly holds the same
principle with the English."
